Combe
Martin
is approx
2.5 miles away with its beach, shops, places to eat and a large car
park. On the south west coastal footpath, it boasts some of the finest scenery including
reputedly the highest sea cliffs in England. The bay is free of currents
and therefore popular for bathing.
The village has a Wildlife
& Dinosaur park.
Ilfracombe A
busy seaside town just 4 miles away. Originally a fishing village, it
became the holiday resort of the Victorian era. In recent years it
has been blooming once again with the striking Landmark
Theatre and Pavilion and the harbour renewal being two of the more
recent developments. The harbour is used by visiting yachts, local fishing boats and pleasure craft. You
can sail from here on a day trip to Lundy. Our very own Atlantic Island Boat
trips around the coast are also available as are half day fishing
trips.

in the west country. Three miles of golden sands with numerous awards;
it is clean and tidy with good toilet facilities, First Aid and life

as a surfing Mecca at the far end of the beach. There is adequate
beachside parking.
Just
a mile away around the coast is Mortehoe a quaint village with pubs
and wonderful circular scenic walks around the cliffs and back to
the village.
Croyde
This
award winning sandy beach is just around the corner from Saunton
Sands, but because it is smaller it can get crowded. However it is
easily accessible, there is plenty of car parking and it is excellent
for swimming, surfing, windsurfing etc. The beach is manned with
lifeguards. At one end of the beach there is equipment hire, a shop,
refreshments and toilets. From here the beach is wheelchair accessible.
Exmoor
National Park
contains
a variety of magnificent landscapes. Although it is one of the
smaller National Parks (693 km², 267 sq. miles) the central plateau of open
moorland is remote and spacious. To the north the moorland terminates
in towering cliffs above the Bristol Channel. Rocky headlands,
steep wooded ravines, plunging waterfalls and jumbled heaps of
fallen rock make this an area of outstanding scenic beauty; it
is defined as a Heritage Coast.

full of little people. An all-in admission price covers all attractions
